This was the first duvet cover I ever made and the process was a sweet one. Several of the women in my family were at the fabric store with me and helped pick out the different fabrics. We talked about the balance and contrast each created and it was fun to see the designs through their eyes for a moment. There were a couple choices I never would have made on my own and I am thankful for them.
Even more than fabric choices, however, this duvet owes a large part of its existence to the kindness of my cousin and his family who let me take over their dining room table for a few days. Unfortunately, I was so caught up in the sewing that I forgot to take pictures of the process. All I have is the end result. It’s a reversible duvet because sometimes a room needs a subtle change of scenery.
