I decided this year to make fun, colorful bags as graduation presents. All of these are based on three-step “origami” pattern that I found on this website. Simple, quick, and fun!
The last one in this set of pictures was a little different in that I made it from some old fabric that a friend was going to throw away. It had been used as a table cloth and had some sun damage and stains. I practiced quilting a free-motion leaf pattern all over it which held the two layers together, and then I turned it into a bag! The quilting is practice … so it’s not perfect, but it gives a nice texture and hides the stains and sun damage on the cloth. A beautiful second life I think. (I gave this one back to the friend who wasn’t so sure the fabric could live again.)
